Point of Hold

This one-of-a-kind abstract wood sculpture, titled Point of Hold, is hand-carved from solid European walnut.

This piece already exists — it was not rendered, not reproduced, and not made to order. What you see in the photos is exactly what you receive.

I created this sculpture intuitively, without sketches or predefined plans. I begin each piece with a single guiding line, then follow the wood — its density, its resistance, its quiet direction. In this work, the gesture became more concentrated. Instead of opening outward, the form gathers inward and holds.

The movement is contained.

Smooth, continuous planes curve into each other with quiet precision. There are no interruptions, no rough textures — only a steady surface that allows light to travel gently across the form. Depending on the angle, the sculpture shifts from grounded and compact to something slightly lifted, almost suspended.

The walnut plays a central role here. Warm amber tones are crossed by deep, natural veins — dense lines formed over decades of growth. They are not imperfections. They are the woods’ autobiography.

This sculpture does not explain itself.
It simply holds its own presence.

Presence in space

Point of Hold expands horizontally, stretching across its 46 cm span with quiet confidence.

It works best where light can reach it from the side — on a console, sideboard, or low shelf. As the day changes, the surface catches and releases light, subtly shifting the perception of the form.

It fits naturally into minimalist, Japandi, and contemporary interiors, especially where materials like wood, stone, and linen remain visible and undisturbed.

This is not a decorative object.
It is a point of balance within a space.
