Quiet Arc

This one-of-a-kind abstract wood sculpture, titled Quiet Arc, is hand-carved from solid aged walnut.

This piece already exists — it was not rendered, not reproduced, and not made to order. What you see in the photos is exactly what you receive.

I created this sculpture intuitively, without sketches or predefined plans. Instead, I worked directly with the wood, allowing its structure, density, and natural variations to guide each step. The form emerged gradually, balancing between movement and stillness, while holding a quiet tension between openness and restraint.

A wide, open arc defines the piece. It is not a closed shape, but rather a continuous gesture held in space. The outer surfaces remain smooth and calm, while the recessed areas carry a deeper, more tactile texture. This contrast reveals the process — pressure, time, and the presence of the hand.

At the same time, the walnut itself defines the sculpture. Its tones move between warm browns and deeper, darker lines, shifting subtly with light. These variations are not controlled or unified — they remain an honest record of the material’s age and history.

As the light changes, so does the perception of the form. In softer light, it appears fluid and continuous. In stronger light, the structure becomes more defined, almost architectural.

The surface is finished with natural matte wax. There is no varnish and no artificial coating. The wood remains present — warm, grounded, and direct.

This abstract wood sculpture does not impose meaning.
It holds it.

“I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.”

Presence in space

This piece builds its presence quietly. It does not demand attention, yet over time it begins to shape the atmosphere around it.

It works naturally in minimalist, Japandi, and contemporary interiors, especially where space remains calm, and materials are allowed to stay visible. Depending on the light and the angle, it reveals different lines, tensions, and relationships within the form.

Placed in a room, it becomes part of the rhythm of the space — not as decoration, but as a subtle point of focus.
