A quiet form shaped by fire and movement.

Ember Hollow is built through contrast.
Between smooth surfaces and charred depth.
Between stillness and a subtle sense of movement held within the structure.

It was not planned.
I carved it intuitively, allowing the apple wood to guide the process —
following its rhythm, its resistance, its natural direction.

The outer surfaces are smooth, refined, and darkened with natural wax,
shifting gently between warm brown tones and deep, near-black areas.

The inner form was shaped by fire.
Using the yakisugi technique, the wood was charred and then worked by hand,
creating a textured surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it.

This contrast is not decorative.
It reveals the inner structure of the material — its depth, its history, its tension.

The form stands as a sculptural object on its own,
but can also hold dried branches or flowers —
without losing its quiet presence.

It does not seek attention.
It allows it to emerge.

Each piece I create is one of a kind.
Formed once, through material, focus, and time.

“I don’t just carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.”
