Threefold Balance
“Threefold Balance” is a one-of-a-kind walnut wood sculpture shaped through three independent yet interconnected forms — each carrying its own rhythm, direction, and weight while remaining in quiet relationship with the others.
I never begin with a sketch or fixed plan.
The process starts only when I stand in front of a raw block of wood and begin responding to what I feel inside the material. Every curve in this sculpture emerged intuitively — through resistance, dust, noise, changing light, and many hours of physical work in my studio.
I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.
While shaping this piece, I became increasingly interested in the tension between separation and connection.
The three forms never completely merge, yet they cannot fully exist apart either. From some angles, the sculpture feels architectural and grounded. From others, softer — almost like folded fabric suspended in slow movement.
There is no single front.
The sculpture changes continuously as light moves across the walnut surface. Openings reveal shadowed interior spaces, while the outer planes catch warm reflections that shift throughout the day. In the late afternoon sun, the walnut deepens into amber, honey, and dark chocolate tones, giving the sculpture an almost breathing quality.
Although the form is abstract, it was created with presence in mind rather than pure decoration.
It brings rhythm, warmth, and quiet concentration into a space. The organic curves soften rigid interiors, while the vertical composition creates balance and stability without overwhelming the room.
Over time, it becomes the kind of object people instinctively look at while passing by.
Not because it asks for attention — but because it continues to reveal new relationships between light, shadow, form, and space.
Presence in space
“Threefold Balance” works especially well in interiors built around natural materials, calm light, and thoughtful composition.
Placed on a console, pedestal, low cabinet, or open shelf, it creates a shifting dialogue between shadow, negative space, and reflected light. The sculpture feels different from every angle — sometimes calm and grounded, sometimes more fluid and open.
It fits naturally into Japandi, wabi sabi, modern organic, and minimalist interiors, especially spaces that combine wood, linen, stone, soft textures, and natural daylight.
Its presence is quiet, but stabilizing.
A sculpture that does not dominate the room, yet subtly changes its atmosphere.
