Old Grain — hand-carved wooden vase in walnut, shaped through an intuitive process that reveals the natural history of the material.

This vase was carved from an old piece of walnut wood that had already lived a long life before I touched it.
You can see it in the grain. It does not run evenly — instead, it shifts, softens, and gathers, carrying the trace of time.

I didn’t begin with a plan.
Instead, I followed the direction of the fibers, adjusting the form as the structure gradually revealed itself.

I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.

The shape remains quiet, almost restrained. There is no excess and no added gesture.
What defines this piece is the natural line running along its side — darker, deeper, and slightly recessed. Rather than decoration, it is something that was already there. I only allowed it to become visible.

As the light moves, this line changes — at times soft, at times more defined.
Because of this, it becomes the center without ever asking for attention.

The form opens subtly at the top, holding space rather than enclosing it.
As a result, it works naturally with a single branch, something light and irregular, or completely on its own.

This is not an object that fills space.
Instead, it settles into it.

Presence in space

“Old Grain” works best where there is room for quiet.
On a shelf, a console, a table — anywhere a single form can define the atmosphere without dominating it.

It pairs naturally with interiors that value material and light — Japandi, wabi-sabi, minimal spaces.
>It does not require arrangement. It responds to it.
