Ivory Flow

Ivory Flow is a tall, hand-carved walnut sculpture shaped through an intuitive dialogue with the wood.
Its flowing vertical form is defined by a sequence of organic openings that shift with perspective, creating a quiet rhythm of light and shadow.
Finished with natural matte Osmo wax, it preserves the soft, tactile quality of the wood while revealing the depth of its grain.
This is not a decoration. It is a pause — held in form.

Ivory Flow — hand-carved abstract wood sculpture in solid walnut, shaped through an intuitive process where form emerges from the material itself.

This piece began without a plan.
There were no sketches or templates — only a single block of walnut and a slow, attentive process of listening. Over time, I followed the grain, the wood’s density, and my own gestures, allowing the form to reveal itself naturally.

I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.

The sculpture rises vertically, built around a sequence of organic openings. Rather than serving as decoration, these openings form the structure itself. Each one varies slightly in size and angle, creating a rhythm that shifts as you move around the piece.

From one perspective, the form feels open, almost transparent. From another, however, it becomes continuous — a single flowing surface.

The lines remain soft, yet intentional. At the same time, they hold a quiet tension between movement and stillness. In this way, the sculpture carries a sense of breath, slow growth, and presence that does not demand attention, yet gradually holds it.

The surface transitions from light, almost creamy tones into deeper brown areas, revealing the natural complexity of walnut. Because of this, the grain becomes an active part of the composition rather than a background detail. Finished with natural Osmo matte wax, the surface stays soft to the touch, without artificial gloss, allowing the wood to remain close to its original character.

This sculpture was carved entirely by hand and, as a result, bears the marks of a physically and time-intensive process. The work involves repetition, focus, dust, and patience — elements that remain present within the final form.

This is not a decoration.
It is a pause — held in form.

Presence in space

Ivory Flow is a vertical piece that brings structure without heaviness.
>Its upward movement draws the eye, while the openings allow light to pass through, keeping the form visually light.

It works naturally in calm, intentional interiors — modern, minimalist, Japandi, or wabi-sabi spaces.
Placed on the floor, a low console, or a pedestal, it reveals different qualities depending on the light and the angle.

It does not impose itself.
It settles into the space.
