Ethereal Motion 

Ethereal Motion is a one-of-a-kind hand-carved abstract wood sculpture in solid walnut — now part of a private collection.

I carved this piece intuitively, without sketches or predefined plans.
I began with a single block of wood and followed its grain, resistance, and internal rhythm.

The form did not emerge as a continuous flow.
It folds, shifts, and changes direction — as if movement was interrupted and resumed again.

I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.

The upper part opens outward, while the lower sections compress and tighten.
This contrast creates a quiet but persistent tension.

Light plays a central role here.
It not only reveals the surface — it fragments the form, softens transitions, and deepens the carved recesses.

There is no single front.
On one side, the sculpture feels open and expanding. From another, more contained — almost held back.

The walnut carries natural variation in tone — from warm honey to deeper brown.
Finished with matte Osmo wax, the surface remains tactile and close to the material, without artificial gloss.

This is not a decorative object.
It is a moment of movement, held in place.

Presence in space

Ethereal Motion is a freestanding wood sculpture mounted on a stone base.
Its vertical composition gives it a light but structured presence.

It works naturally on a console, pedestal, or shelf — especially in interiors where light changes throughout the day.

The open and folded planes interact with their surroundings, casting shadows that extend beyond the sculpture itself.

It fits well within minimalist, contemporary, Japandi, and wabi-sabi interiors, where a single form can define the atmosphere without overwhelming the space.
