Leaning Silence
It does not stand completely still.
It leans — gently, almost imperceptibly.
This one-of-a-kind hand-carved walnut vase was intuitively shaped from a single block of solid wood. Its slender, organic form carries a subtle asymmetry — a quiet shift that introduces movement without instability.
From the beginning, I did not follow a plan.
I worked entirely by hand, without sketches or predefined lines — allowing the grain to guide the direction and rhythm. The form revealed itself gradually, through a slow and attentive process.
I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.
The exterior remains smooth and calm, while the inner recesses and transitions retain a soft, organic texture. As light moves across the surface, it reveals depth — flowing through openings and settling inside the form.
The walnut shifts in tone — warm and grounded at the base, with broader accents following the natural grain. These variations are not added — they are uncovered.
Finished with natural Osmo matte wax, the surface stays protected while remaining fully honest to the material. Light becomes part of the form, changing how it is perceived throughout the day.
This sculptural wooden vase can hold fresh flowers or branches with the included glass tube, yet it does not depend on them.
Even empty, it remains complete.
This is not a decorative object made to be repeated.
It is a single, unrepeatable gesture — shaped once, and never again.
Presence in space
At 40 cm tall, this abstract wood vase introduces a quiet vertical presence. It works naturally on a console, table, or pedestal — wherever it can be seen from multiple angles.
Its slight lean creates a subtle tension in space — not dramatic, but perceptible. It interacts with light and surroundings, changing its expression depending on where it is placed.
It pairs effortlessly with natural materials — linen, stone, ceramics, raw surfaces — and fits into minimalist, Japandi, wabi-sabi, and contemporary interiors.
You may place fresh branches or seasonal elements inside.
Or leave it empty. The form remains complete.
