Reveris
“Reveris” is a hand-carved walnut sculpture shaped intuitively through flowing organic forms, shifting light, and the natural movement of wood grain.
Its flowing planes unfold differently from every angle.
In soft light, the sculpture appears calm and weightless.
In stronger sunlight, deeper curves and warm walnut tones begin to emerge more clearly from the surface.
The circular opening near the center became a natural pause within the composition — a place where light passes through the form and changes its rhythm.
There is no fixed front to this sculpture.
It shifts constantly with perspective, revealing new tensions between softness, structure, shadow, and balance.
Process & Material
I carved “Reveris” intuitively from solid walnut wood without sketches or predefined plans.
The form developed slowly through direct contact with the material — guided by grain movement, density, resistance, and the natural direction hidden inside the wood itself.
Walnut has a particular warmth when worked by hand.
Its darker tones and soft transitions become more visible as the surface begins to reflect light after sanding and finishing.
This sculpture was shaped in the rhythm of physical work — surrounded by dust, sound, and the repetitive movement of tools — while internally searching for calmness and flow within the form.
Some surfaces remain broad and open to light.
Others fold inward into softer shadows and deeper transitions.
I wanted the sculpture to feel fluid but grounded at the same time — suspended somewhere between organic movement and stillness.
The natural grain patterns became an important part of the final composition, almost like quiet currents moving across the surface.
Presence in Space
“Reveris” introduces softness and movement into a space without visual heaviness.
The sculpture works naturally with daylight, changing gradually throughout the day as shadows move across its curved planes and inner openings.
Placed on a console, pedestal, shelf, or desk, it creates a calm sculptural presence that feels architectural yet organic.
The warm walnut tones pair naturally with travertine, linen, stone, plaster, and minimalist interiors focused on texture and atmosphere.
Its horizontal composition creates a quieter rhythm than strongly vertical forms — more reflective, more meditative, almost floating above the stone base.
The sculpture does not dominate a space.
It slowly becomes part of its atmosphere.
