Description
Quiet Axis
There is only one.
This sculpture exists — it was not rendered, not reproduced, not made to order. What you see in the photos is exactly what you will receive.
This piece began without a sketch or plan. I worked directly with the wood, allowing its structure and rhythm to guide each decision. From the beginning, the form moved toward something quieter — more grounded, more contained.
A vertical division runs through the sculpture. Not a separation, but a relationship. Two volumes that remain connected at the base, leaning toward each other with a subtle tension. The form feels stable, yet not static.
It changes with light. In warmer tones, the pear wood softens and glows. In cooler light, the structure becomes more defined, more architectural.
The surface is smooth, finished with natural matte wax. No varnish, no artificial coating. The material remains present — calm, warm, and direct.
It does not impose meaning. It holds it.
“I don’t just carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.”
