Held Fold is a one-of-a-kind hand-carved walnut wood sculptural vase — an abstract wood sculptural vase where tension softens, and light begins to settle.

I carved this piece from a single solid block of walnut. No assembly, no repetition, no predefined design. I began with the material and allowed it to lead.

The form emerged slowly — shaped by the grain, resistance, and internal rhythm of the wood. Each cut was a response, not a decision imposed from outside.

I don’t carve wood. I carve what I feel — and the wood responds.

What defines this piece is the relationship between planes and texture. One side carries a deep, hand-carved surface that holds light rather than reflecting it evenly. It shifts as you move — sometimes calm, sometimes more tactile, almost raw. From another angle, the form becomes quieter, smoother, more contained — as if the tension folds inward.

There is no single front. The object changes with light, with time, and with where you stand.

It can hold dried flowers or branches, but it does not depend on them. Even empty, it remains complete.

This wood sculptural vase is designed to exist both as a functional object and as a quiet sculptural presence.

This is not a decorative object. It is a quiet structure held in wood.

Presence in space

Held Fold works naturally on a console, shelf, or table — wherever a single object can anchor the space around it.
Its angular planes contrast with soft surroundings, making it suitable for minimalist, Japandi, and contemporary interiors.

In direct light, the shadows become part of the composition.

As a wood sculptural vase, it does not dominate the space — it builds presence gradually.
